Located in downtown Reykjavík and having the beautiful surroundings of the Old Harbour, The Black Pearl is in a privileged location when it comes to all the main highlights of the city. The Old Reykjavík Harbour is just 3 minutes away. There, you can find Whale Watching companies that operate throughout the year. Nearby you can lose yourself in the most iconic sightseeing places such as Hallgrimskirkja Church, Harpa Concert Hall, the Pond and the Sun Voyager monument. Museums like Aurora Reykjavík, Whales of Iceland and the National Gallery of Iceland are all walking distance from the Black Pearl, together with the Laugavegur street, Reykjavík’s main shopping street. The hotel is a great base for hunting The Northern Lights as well.
A great variety of dining options, from seafood to the traditional Icelandic Lamb, can be found in this area, as well as a vibrant and diverse nightlife.

Early check-in
Our standard check-in time is 3:00 p.m. If the room is available earlier we will be able to proceed with an early check-in. In case of such an early check in before 13.00 p.m. the additional charge will be € 250,-. The only way to secure an early check-in is to book another night prior to arrival. Our reception is 24/7 open.Late Check-out
It is possible to prologue your stay in case we do not need the room urgently. Our check-out time is 11:00 am Late check out should be requested at the reception at least 1 day before. If you are staying longer than until 12:00 pm you will be charged an additional fee of 250,- EUR.Parking lot
Private car parking facilities are available in our indoor garage, but spaces are limited and subject to availability. Cost is 5.000,– ISK per day.Possibility to store luggage

You can see northern lights when the solar wind passes through the magnetic field of Earth. You can check aurora forecast here. Please, bear in mind that auroras are only visible when it is dark and in areas without clouds. It is never dark in the summer, therefore best months for aurora hunters are from September to March.Whale watching (summer/autumn)
